A2 Media – background research

Research the genre Document this research on your blog E.g. Two / three teaser trailers, websites,

film magazine front covers, and/or film posters

Establish the conventions of each text – write a blog post listing the conventions you have found

Ensure that you refer to key concepts and use media terms in all this analysis

A2 Media - Planning

Having established the conventions, plan each text carefully

Film texts – storyboards, scripts, costume and location ideas, shooting schedule

Print / Online texts – mockups, screenshots of process, photoshoots, font designs and ideas, design ideas

Ensure you document the planning process carefully on your blog

Refer as much as possible to audience, representation and media language in your planning

A2 Media – Construction of Texts All video footage and/or principal

photography needs to be completed by Christmas (15 school weeks)

Editing and production work to be completed by Thursday 28th February for all three texts

A2 Media – Audience Feedback We will all feed back on each others’

productions This can also be completed using

blog/YouTube comments The audience feedback must be

recorded in a blog post

develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

Evaluations should be filmed as: Director’s commentaries / voice-overs Presentations to camera including clips and

extracts On-screen annotations

It is possible to submit evaluations in other formats but these reduce the ability to reach the higher grades

Deadline for all coursework and completed evaluations is Friday 22nd March 2013.

A2 Media – Preparation for the exam

After Easter, we will be focussing on writing about the completed productions in the G325 examination

You will need to be able to write effectively about your production in relation to the production process and key concepts

These lessons will begin on April 8th.
