WORLD JEWELRY HUB & FREE ZONE

A dedicated trading hub for the Latin American diamond, colored gemstone and jewelry sectors, and a gateway to suppliers and buyers from around the world. The secure $200 million complex is located in a gemstone and jewelry Free Zone declared the Government of Panama, and provide all the facilities and services required by the trade. These include company offices, gem labs, banks and financial services, secured shipping services, government offices (Customs and Panama’s Kimberly Process Authority), and the administrative headquarters and trading floor of the Panama Diamond Exchange.

WORLD JEWELRY HUB: EXCLUSIVE LOCATION

The World Jewelry Hub is being established in the prestigious Santa Maria Business District, midway between Panama City center and Tocumen International Airport.

WORLD JEWELRY HUB: 2-PHASE DEVELOPMENT

PHASE 1 PHASE 2

Completed, on schedule, during the fourth quarter 2014, the

Phase I building provides an interim home for the Panama

Diamond Exchange, office space for the first residents of the

Latin America’s gem and jewelry hub, and serves as an

operational base for other regional and international

companies. Office space in Phase I is leased.

Phase II will include an iconic office tower, where the offices

and trading floor of the Panama Diamond Exchange will be

located in the low-rise base of the complex, along with a

luxury commercial center, with banks, specialized support

services, restaurants and shops, including high-end retail

jewelry stores. Offices in Phase II will be available for

purchase.

A LATIN AMERICAN GEM & JEWELRY TRADING COMPLEX The World Jewelry Hub & Panama Diamond Exchange are designed to fill a void in the Latin American market, by providing a complex dedicated to needs of the diamond, colored gemstone and jewelry sectors. It will provide an infrastructure and the services that are common to other major gem and jewelry trading centers around the world.

FREE ZONE

Encompassing the entire area of the World Jewelry Hub, a Free Zone was established on August 6, 2013, by decree of Panamanian Cabinet, and was approved for the exclusive benefit of the diamond, gemstone and jewelry industries by the Government of Panama within the framework of Law 32 from April 5, 2011.

Goods that are imported into the Free Zone and are traded and exported without entering the local market are exempt from all duties.

Companies registered in the Free Zone are exempt from paying taxes on all profits earned from re-exportation.

Companies registered in the Free Zone are eligible for tax exemption on every activity involving transfer of personal property, real property, purchase of construction equipment and materials, raw materials, machinery, tools, accessories, inputs and every good or service required for its operations.
