In his letter he announced Terry Myerson to be the leader of a new

team, Windows and Devices Group (WDG).

Applications and Services Engineering Group

Qi Lu leads Microsoft’s business across productivity, communications,

education, search and other information services, setting the vision,

strategy and overall direction of the Applications and Services group,

and is responsible for all of the research and development teams across

Microsoft Office, Office 365, SharePoint, Exchange, Yammer, Skype, Bing,

Bing Apps, MSN and the Advertising platforms and business group.

Cloud and Enterprise Engineering Group

Scott Guthrie is the leader of the Cloud and Enterprise Engineering

Group, which is responsible for the company’s cloud infrastructure,

server, database, CRM, ERP, management and development tools

businesses. His engineering team builds Microsoft Azure, Windows

Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Dynamics, Active Directory, System Center,

Visual Studio and .NET.

Windows and Devices Group

Terry Myerson leads this group, which focuses on the software platform,

apps, games, store and devices that power the Windows ecosystem,

including Microsoft Edge, Minecraft, Halo, Surface, Surface Hub,

HoloLens and Xbox.

Worldwide Commercial Business

Judson Althoff leads the Worldwide Commercial Business organization,

including enterprise, public sector, small and mid-market, services,

developer and partner.

Technology and Research

Harry Shum leads Technology and Research, including Microsoft

Research, Trustworthy Computing and Technology Policy, and is

responsible for driving the company’s overall technical directions

Peggy Johnson leads the Business Development Group, focusing on key

partnerships, especially our innovation partners (OEMs, silicon vendors,

key developers, Yahoo, etc.) and our broad work on evangelism and

developer outreach.

Kurt DelBene is the executive vice president of Corporate Strategy and

It is one of Microsoft Corporation’s largest R&D centers, in fact the

largest outside its headquarters in Redmond. Working out of this 54-

acre campus in Hyderabad, teams collaborate across geographies to

build great software and services.

The center was set up at Hyderabad in 1998 as a part of Microsoft

Corporation’s strategy of global shared development. It has

witnessed phenomenal growth over the last decade, winning several

industry accolades.

Microsoft IT India, the offshore arm of the Microsoft IT Engineering

Divisions, delivers critical solutions and services that enable

of the largest Microsoft IT teams. It takes pride in deploying the

adds the latest Microsoft products to its toolkit. It ensures that

MCIPL drives the sales and marketing operations for Microsoft

software products in India. It focuses on the enterprise, small, and

mid-market groups and consumer segments, via a strong channel

network of over 18,000 members, including over 550 Independent

Software Vendors (ISVs).

The organization was set up in 1990 and has grown to over 685

employees in the nine cities of Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai,

Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune

Microsoft India Global Technical Support Center

IGTSC provides technical resolution services to Microsoft's English-

speaking enterprise customers and partners across geographies. It

assists organizations that leverage Microsoft technologies to

optimize their IT investments and keep their businesses productive

around the clock.

The center was established in Bangalore in October 2003. It is an

integral part of Microsoft's Customer Service and Support (CSS)

organization, which has a presence in the Americas, EMEA, APAC,

and Greater China.
