Introduction

Post production is the final stage of editing to

complete our wok to the highest quality.

Post production is vital as it allows you to

complete and add missing work to make a near

perfect final production.

It also allows you to fix minor mistakes which will

make major effects on your production grade.

Analysis

During post production, everyone in the group

had a role to do some editing to make our

production as good as possible.

My role in editing was adding the titles and

looking for minor errors to fix. This consists of

checking the lighting and transitions in our

production.

What I Had To Do…

When checking the lighting for our production, if

the lighting was bad, I had to use different

effects that would blend in with the good

lighting. I had to do this because we had already

finished filming and had no other better clips. I

did this by checking through effects in Final Cut

Pro.

What I Had To Do…

I also had a role in creating the titles for the

production. I made the titles for the beginning of

the film. The easiest way of doing this was by

using the software Motion, a software that

allowed us to choose the design and timing of

our titles and then import it onto the production.

What I Learned…

During my time helping with the post production,

I learned how to use different tools on Final Cut

Pro and Motion. With Final Cut, I learned how to

use the blade/ruler to cut parts of long clips that

we didn’t need. With Motion, I learned how to

create and implement titles into productions. I

also learned how to add music onto Final Cut by

firstly downloading it of Jamendo via the

internet.

Using Skills This Year

I hope to add most of my post production skills

that I used last year, this year.

Using Final Cut Pro is always important as we

will have to do a lot of editing this year as we are

doing a music video and we’d have to cut to the

beat using videos. A lot of editing will take place

this year so I’d like to implement all skills from

last year to this year.

Using Skills This Year

Using Motion this year will not be as useful as

most music videos from the genre we are

focusing on this year don’t really have titles in

music videos. However, it may come in handy

during the music video when introducing the

main artist but it isn’t something I am expecting

the group to include during the production.

Jamendo may not be as useful as last year’s film

opening production as we have already chosen

our song.
