Toughness and Stability of Thermoplastic Polycarbonate Sheets

Polycarbonate sheets are pieces of thermoplastics which are considered as stable and tough materials. These sheets are light weight and have wide industrial and commercial uses. These sheets are widely used in roofing applications and are also applicable in manufacturing of several products. In spite of being light in weight, the sheets have high tensile strength and can withstand rough conditions. They can be used in:

• Construction of bullet proof windows.

• Out-house roofing applications.

• Production of eye bifocals.

Insulating Applications of Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheets

These sheets are available in single wall or multiwall polycarbonate sheets. It can withstand extreme temperatures and thus proves to be a bad conductor of heat. It can be used in place of glass because it is nearly half the weight of glass and is resistant to breakage. During the manufacturing of the sheets, it is layered with coatings to prevent UV rays.

Polycarbonate sheets can be recycled and is an eco-friendly material. Due to its insulating property, it can be used internally as well as externally. This plastic sheet is stain resistant and is also known to be a fire preventive material. Due to its transparency, it is even used for the manufacture of bifocals.
