CAUSESmoke from chimneys, factories, vehicles.Besides, Coal burning releases sulphur dioxide into the air making it toxic.
AIR POLLUTION
CAUSEIndustrial wastes dumped into the rivers and other water bodies cause an imbalance in the water leading to contamination and death of aquatic species.
WATER POLLUTION
CAUSEUse of insecticides and pesticides .Some chemical component absorbs the nitrogen compounds from the soil making it unfit for plants to derive nutrition . Release of industrial waste, mining and deforestation also exploits the soil.
SOIL POLLUTION
highly dangerous when it occurs.
CAUSEnuclear plant malfunctions, improper nuclear waste disposal, accidents.
RADIOACTIVE POLLUTION
excess heat in the environment creating unwanted changes over long time periods
CAUSEdue to huge number of industrial plants, deforestation and air pollution

Although pollution had been known to exist for a very long time, it had seen the growth of truly global proportions only since the onset of
the industrial revolution.
