Socialisation of single operating model:
• Training in contracting and commissioning fundamentals (principles of the Single Operating Model, primary care contracting, regulatory context)
• Training/briefing sessions on policy changes, case law, negotiated changes
• Practical on-demand advice for resolving complex issues• Scenario based learning and planning for teams• Facilitated networks
Access to the experts
• Reliable, timely response to technical queries• Advice on appropriate use of legal advice (eg to ensure
that managers are not resorting to legal services before considering other options and are confident about when it is and is not necessary to consult lawyers)
• One to one access to experts for advice• Regular updates and briefings on commissioning,
contracting and regulatory matters• Supporting the quality, innovation, productivity and
prevention (QIPP) initiative
Supporting the transformation agenda
• Sharing examples and learning from other areas (building and improving on what has already been developed, and not reinventing wheels)
• Facilitated strategic planning with other organisations in the local health economy
• Support for patient and public participation in the design of primary care services
• Understanding new organisational forms for primary care• Skills to support areas such as outcome-based
commissioning and developing more integrated care models including primary care
Access to PCC’s national events
PCC offers a calendar of training sessions, which includes:
• Training in negotiation• Facilitation• Influencing skills• Change management• Relationship management
Additional support
In addition to our subscription service PCC does provide additional services to area teams. To date, this has included:• Implementing QIPP programmes• Contractual reviews – eg primary care premises, PMS
etc• Dispensing doctor reviews (to ensure safe and
appropriate dispensing)• Managing disputes (advice to panels)
