Introduction:Sony Ericsson is 50-50 joint ventures establish on 1st October, 2001 by the Japanese

consumer electronics company “Sony Corporation” and “Swedish telecommunication company Ericsson”. The stated reason for this venture is combine Sony’s consumer electronic expertise with Ericsson’s technological knowledge in the communications sector. Both companies have stopped making their own mobile phones.

Sony Ericsson mobile communication is a global provider of mobile multimedia devices, including feature – rich phones, accessories and pc cards. The products combine powerful technology with innovative applications for mobile imaging, music’s, communication & entertainment. The net result is that Sony Ericsson is an enticting brand that creates compelling business opportunities for mobile operators & desirable, fun products for end users.

Background history of a company:Sony was a marginal player in the world wide cell phone market with a share of less than

one percent in the year of 2000. By August 2001, the two companies had finalized the term of the merger company was to have an initial work force of 3500 employees. Ericsson’s market share actually fell & in august 2002, Ericsson said it would stop making mobile phones and end its partnership with Sony if the business continued to disappoint. However, in January 2003, both companies said they would inject more money into joint venture in a bid to stem losses. The target date for making a profit from its first year 2002 was postponed to 2003 to second half of 2003 it failed in its mission of becoming to top seller of multimedia handsets & was in fifth place & struggling in 2005. Sony Ericsson commenced business in 80 countries. By the year 2008 Sony Ericsson has more than 9000 employees.

Design of product:Sony Ericsson designs attractive, innovative products. First Sony used make simpler

products. Now a day’s Sony Ericsson is trying to provide attractive looking product. First Sony Ericsson uses different memory slots. Now a day’s Sony Ericsson is giving micro SD memory slots. These slots are preferable in all other companies mobile. The Sony Ericsson is providing very attractive, effective products in market. Sony Ericsson creative design center studio has in London, Asia & Japan. Product shape is design by industrial designers & graphical themes, icons & wallpapers are design by the human interface designers. Color and material designers work with the textures, material & color. Graphical designers work with graphic materials. The numbers of designers works on every project with full intention. There are more than 2000 employee’s works for the design of the product.

Future plan:Sony Ericsson is one of the oldest companies in the world. The Sony Ericsson will stop

symbain operating phone. Sony Ericsson will start making android operating phone. Sony Ericsson wants to become a no. one company in all over India. Sony Ericsson is willing to invest money in other market also. These are certain future plans of Sony Ericsson Company.

Conclusion:Sony Ericsson is a 50-50 joint venture. The Sony Ericsson has more than 3000 employees.

There is certain department which works on product design. My conclusion is the Sony Ericsson is the oldest company for making mobile phones. The Sony Ericsson has the featured and attractive product. The Sony Corporation has not such better phones. Ericsson has better communication plant but he run business on many losses. After becoming a joint venture they had well goodwill in market. After coming Sony Ericsson in market many communication companies has drop down. Sony Ericsson has provided many changes in their product. The Sony Ericsson has attractive design, stylish body, better quality sound, graphical themes. These was my conclude statement.
