• New additions to Facebook in Q1:

• For the 1st time in the country we have introduced ‘Live Web-chat’ that enables our fans (including media people) to ask questions live via our Facebook page and get the answers in the live video interview.

• 5 languages (En, Ar, Fr, Sw, Cn) and more Arabic content to build on our local fans base.

• We started customizing content to target different nationalities (like interviews with Sidney Gavignet for the French market).

• Q1 highlights:

• In 21st January we reached 6,000 fans.

• During Extreme Sailing Series Act 1 in Muscat, our Facebook page witnessed a rapid growth in fans number.

• The demographics show that 64% of our fans are males. However, female fan number is expected to increase after launching our Women Sailing Program.

• From 829 in Q4 2010 to 1,183 followers in Q1 2011

• More followers from the local market (as Twitter is being adopted locally due to the political and social developments)

• About 85% of @OmanSail tweets happen between 8:00am and 12:pm (Peak time in Oman and US).

• The words ‘Oman’, ‘Muscat’, and ‘The Wave’ are the most frequently mentioned words in @OmanSail tweets.
