You can satisfy your craving for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and desert anytime you want. While there are many home-style restaurants out there we can offer something unique in the ingredients we use and the pairings of foods. This will be a restaurant that truly serves homemade food. We will use original recipes and cook from scratch whenever possible. Location We do not have a specific location yet but plan to lease one of the available retail locations near IUP campus. We hope to be situated within walking distance of campus, a shopping center, and several apartment complexes. Menu Our menu will consist of year-round favorites as well as weekly and seasonal specials such as... 1. Peanut Butter Banana Pancakes 2. Bacon, egg, and cheese cups 3. Smokehouse Burger 4. The Big Kahuna Burger featuring teriyaki sauce and pineapple 5. Southwest Chicken Pasta 6. Chef Salad with house dressing 7. Homemade Chips and Loaded baked potato dip 8. Bacon Wrapped Jalapeno Bites 9. Cheesy Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy 10. Giant Chocolate Sandwich Cookies 11. Apple Banana Crumble Bread Atmosphere It will be a family friendly restaurant with simple booths and tables. We will have a bakery case for carry-out items. We will also have a few flat screen TVs for themed nights such as "Guy's Night" and "Family Movie Night." Marketing Strategy We plan to market our business through word of mouth. We will pass out flyers on campus offering 10%. We will contact local radio stations and place an ad with the local newspaper. We also plan to have a "rehearsal" with employee’s friends and family to give a sneak peek of our restaurant and hopefully gain some loyal customers. Financial Plan We anticipate start up costs of around $150,000. Through Foodstart , we hope to raise $50,000 for initial costs such as used kitchen equipment, furnishings, and the first few lease payments. We anticipate receiving a SBA backed loan for $100,000. For small costs that may occur we have friends and family who have expressed an interest in supporting us financially.
