Mozambique’s coal industry
Where to from here…
As home to an estimated 23bn tonnes of coking and thermal coal, Mozambique remains one of
the most promising emerging coal sectors in the world, with a certain future as a leading
exporter of coking and thermal coal into the global marketplace.
But the past few years have seen the challenging reality of Mozambique’s infrastructure
constraints raise extensive questions over the timescale within which these coal reserves
can be fully utilised.
• How are port and rail facilities being developed?
• How will new entrants be able to access those facilities?
• What dynamics are shaping the buyer’s market into which growing quantities of Mozambican coal will be flowing in the years ahead?
Join us at the 4th Coaltrans Mozambique Networking Forum
as we debate these questions and others.
