VISIONThe vision is to provide the city of Lahore

with a high quality Public Transport system, with a road based mass transit system, in the

medium term.

• Metro Bus Service inaugurated in Lahore on 10 Feb, 2013. It indeed is an ambitious project by the Govt. of the Punjab, as envisioned by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Line-1 from Gajjumata To Shahdara and is approximately 27 KM long running in the North-South direction.

Key locations throughout the city are targeted to allow maximum number of citizens from surrounding areas to avail the bus services.

There are a total of 27 Stations

9 Of these stations are elevated while the rest are at ground level

Each station is equipped with generators, a tuck shop and comfortable waiting areas.

108 passengers and are standard for all major Bus Rapid Transit Systems including the one in Tehran and Istanbul

Special seats for Women & Children as well as for Handicapped Persons.

The Metro Bus Card MBS Token MBS Card is Travel card

that can be recharged for multiple journeys, and costs 133 Rupees.

School Children and Students as well as senior citizens will be charged a discounted rate.

These signals are being upgraded to make these Intelligent, providing Bus priority and managing allied traffic as well.

MBS CONSTRUCTION & COST

Construction of the project was divided into different packages and was awarded to different contractors. Zahir Khan & Brothers in Joint venture with Reliable Engineering Services (Pvt.) Limited constructed the major part of the Flyover. Habib Construction Services construct the down ramp to taxali gate of flyover.

Construction project started in March 2012.The metrobus was inagurated on february 10, 2013.Traffic Engineering and Planning Agency (TEPA), a

subsidiary of the Lahore Development Authority(LDA) at a cost Rs 29.7 billion.

Collaboration between the Punjab and the Turkish government.
