SCR Economic priorities

This lack of economic “maturity” is best identified by the fact that the city region does not have an externally recognisable world class Science / Innovation park infrastructure which encompasses all key technology segments and brings together Universities and participation by world class supply chains. The nearest we have to this is the emerging asset of the AMRC.

These industries all have a clear technology and innovation focus and encompass strong assets within the city region but experience differing levels of engagement (collaboration internally and externally to industry sector) and differing levels of support from a policy or infrastructure perspective.

Funding and incentives

The current economic climate means that the LEP has to focus efforts around high quality projects that have the best chance of success and use the economic value created from these projects to invest in further development of our economy.
