• Why do people need your product?

and/or growing? • Is your understanding

of the market accurate and complete?

• Why is now the right time?

• What about the founders will allow this startup to succeed?

• How will you grow and achieve scale?

Prepare your facts • The most

How do you make money?

• Know how you will make it or find it

• Know what you’ll do with it

• CAC vs LTV is usually important

• It’s okay to do things that don’t scale at the beginning!

Think about traction/validation

Keep it simple!

• Don’t give me options • Don’t attack me with

Ditch the script!• Avoid cue cards • Avoid video • Keep it succinct

Deck-to-speech ratio• Can distract the

audience

Know the problem (and are experts about their users)

Are curious and have intellectual humility
