Can I use the databases from home?

• Log in with your Canvas username and password to access databases from off-campus
• Contact the Library if you have access problems
• Enter your keywords in the search boxes
• Click the “Phrase” link to search for exact phrases
• Use the “Article Type” menu for different results
• Click “Search”
• Click on “OpenURL 1” or “View HTML” or “View PDF” to access the article
• Enter your keywords• Use quotes to search
for phrases • Consider using some of
the “Limit your results” options
• Click “Search”

• Click “Locate Journal Article” if not full text through the database
• Is the article available in a UMW database? NO.
• What if the article is not available in a database? Use ILLIAD.

• Book catalog will search for books at the Stafford and Simpson Libraries
• Perform a “Keyword Search” • Enter your keywords• Click “Search”
