• stands for Learning Management System software

• plan, deliver, manage, and track learning events (including online, virtual classroom, and face-to-face)

• serves as a portal for learning content

• offers reporting and analytics to help with performance reviews

• facilitates use of iPads, salespeople can instantly access product knowledge content

LMS MARKET OVERVIEW:

• There are many LMS providers to choose from (over 200)

• None of them are perfect

• Low levels of customer satisfaction

• Reliable information about LMS market is expensive

• LMS market giants are reputed to be focused on mergers and acquisitions rather than product development for emerging technologies, such as iPads

• As of April 2011, only a few LMS providers support iPads.

DECISION MAKING PROCESS• Assess needs from the following departments:

• IT

• HR

• Wound Care Sales

• Surgical Sales

• Appoint representatives from each department to serve on LMS steering committee

• Create list of selection criteria, present to LMS providers as RFP document (request for proposal)

• Assess RFP responses, select 3-4 LMS providers to review in detail
