• Bob : Oh, I think l‘ll run up and down the stairs! I don't move around much in my job so it‘ll give me some valuable exercise.

• Jenny : That's up to you! Now, just opposite the lift is the reception and information desk - it is manned throughout the working day - we have a rota to cover the lunch hour, but that won't concern you. We have a direct line telephone system, but there is a simple switchboard here for message taking - it's so much nicer to have a human being than talking to a computer! Then, on your right is The Managing Director's office.

• Bob : I thought it probably was!

• Jenny : Now, let's go past the other offices - l'il introduce you to everyone once you have got your bearings. Along here, behind The glass panel, is The computer room - as you can see, we are very I.T. minded, and then through here, is the fully-equipped conference room with OHP, screen, coffee machine, etc. The directors sometimes have their lunches in here too.

• Jenny : No, l'm afraid not. If you follow me along here there's a small kitchen with a coffee machine, kettle and everything you need to make yourself a drink. There's also a micro-wave in case you want to heat up some lunch for yourself because there's no canteen here.

• Bob : What is this huge open-plan area?

• Jenny : This is the sales department. The manager prefers an open-plan arrangement which is in total contrast to the small offices on the other side of this floor. Now, let's take the stairs to go to the fifth floor. Here are more offices, the accounts department, personnel and all kinds of administration. Oh yes. I forgot, there are toilets on each floor just to the left of The lifts

• Bob : Is there anywhere I can park my car?

• Jenny . You will be allotted a numbered parking space in The underground car park. I will give you your number later on.

• Bob : Thank you

• Jenny : And here we are - this is your office. Do you have any questions? If not I’ll leave you you to settle in - just give me a buzz if you need anything.
