Founded at the beginning of 2007 by Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo,

Panasonic Mobile Communications, Samsung, and Vodafone

Consortium of mobile industry leaders working together to deliver an

open Linux-based software platform for handsets

LiMo is NOT a standards body – LiMo is directly connected to the

real business of delivering next generation handsets, applications

and services

Middleware OS only – avoiding conflict with operators, handset

vendors and content providers by not providing the UI or content

Introduction to LiMo Foundation

TM

Delivery of a Linux-based software platform for mobile

devices through a balanced and transparent contribution

process that enables a rich ecosystem of differentiated

products, applications, and services from device

manufacturers, operators, ISVs and integrators.
