Dear Lynn Hammond:
I asked a former colleague for a referrel to a communications recruiter, and she suggested your firm. My experience is in communications and media relations. I have accomplished busienss writing skills and many contacts with local and national media.
My most recent position was Director of Purblic Relations with a starup firm. Statups can be volatile, as you know, and when the firm was purchased, are team was apart of the layoffs. Since I was layed off, I have had several contract assignments, and I have enjoyed this hand-ons work. Everyday is different, and it has helped me keep my skills current. However, it is tuff to acquire new clients in this economy, and thus I am definitley interested in full-time positions.
I am currently perusing my MBA in bran management at Northwestern Universities Scool of Continuing Studies. I have undertakled this program and continue to use any resources at my desposal to expand my network. As I have several years of experience in the food industry, I have reached out to my contacts in that field, particularly at the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and the United Diary Industry.
Lynn, I am a boomeer in transition. My top choise would be to work for a cutting edge firm with an entrepreneurial spit. I would like to run accompany again and I would be willing to move any where in the country for the right opportunity. To be strait with you, I am none to happy with the opportunities presented to me by my outplacement firm. I would appreciate any advise you have on my resume or search.
Sincerely,
Candidate
