EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT
“True leaders aren’t made by business schools – they make themselves,
seeking out the knowledge, skills, and experience they need to succeed.”
~ Josh Kaufman, author of The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business
THE TRANSITION TO EXECUTIVE
Many professionals have mastered the knowledge and skills of their functional
discipline (e.g. sales, finance, operations, etc.) but have not learned the
knowledge and skills needed to succeed as an executive leader.
THE PURPOSE OF AN EXECUTIVE
The job and focus of a business executive is to generate sustainable results.
HOW DOES AN EXECUTIVE DO THIS?
An executive generates sustainable results by creating, delivering and capturing
value.
WHAT IS THE PROOF OF SUCCESS?
Success in creating, delivering and capturing value is measured by how well the
executive achieves expected results.
The expected results for an executive is generally accepted to mean achieving
sustained superior profitability in a for-profit entity.
