REPORT: The victim’s laptop was stolen from home and connected to the Internet just a few days later. The Absolute Investigations team was able to identify the suspected user and location, and the information was then transferred to local authorities. When it was determined that the location of the stolen laptop was actually in a neighboring jurisdiction, police from both areas worked together on the case. When officials attempted to recover the laptop, it was determined that the suspected user was out of the country. The laptop was tracked in China, Japan and finally back to New Hampshire. As soon as he returned to that location, the device was recovered.
