Shore Charms, Sea Creatures, and Barn Wood Inspire Denton Artist

Just in time for beating winter blues, Jan Baker has created a new, must-see line of repurposed

art at Jan Baker’s Fourth Street Gallery in Denton! Reminiscent of summertime here on the

Shore, her collection of tooled copper sea horses and crabs on washed antique barn wood are

guaranteed to add a breath of fresh seaside charm to any home or office.

A long-time resident of the Shore, Jan Baker opened her doors on Fourth Street in Denton in

early 2015. She is a proud member of the Caroline County Council of the Arts and delights in

capturing the beauty of the Shore using a variety of mediums on canvas, wood, and repurposed

objects. She and her husband Jim have traversed the Shore and visited many states collecting

and surface mining for gems, shells, petrified wood, and other beautiful bits of nature. Jim, a

lapidary artist, uses his careful craftsmanship to bring to life the beauty of each stone. Jan

skillfully sets the gems using modern and traditional styles. Their Dancing Waters Collection

includes jewelry for all tastes, ages, and budgets!

Discerning art connoisseurs will take note of Jan's screen paintings -- a true Maryland folk art

tradition! Behind each lovely creation lies a story waiting to be told. Be sure to ask Jan or Jim.

Check Jan out on Facebook at Jan Baker’s Fourth Street Gallery or at

www.janbakers4thstreetgallery.com for a glimpse of her work. Simply nothing can beat viewing

art in person. Hours of operation are Wednesday and Thursday, 11 to 5, Fridays 11 to 6, and

Saturdays from 11 to 2. Visit to experience a fresh breath of summertime on the Shore.
