Patient conducted NST (Non Stress Test) fetal monitoring data to be sent to networked
data center, via her own smart-phone.
What are we trying to do ??
Styles of Fetal Monitoring
Fetal Doppler Telemeter
No Essential Progress for 30 Years ??
In-Hospital Use System, Home Use System, Practiced Systems In-Use are, At Large, “D
edicated, Closed System”.
Whilst that, Electronic Patient Data Management Systems Have Made a Great Progr
ess.
So/Then, How about Mobile Phones, i-Somethings, Tablets ----- PDAs.
Mostly Simple/Easy/Always-Available Interface with Operating Power Available
Can We Convert This to Fetal Phono??
Unforthnately the Answer is NO.
(Fetal) Phono is 100%-OUT of Voice Passband of Telephony
Can We Convert This to Fetal Doppler??
the Answer is “YES+but”
Needs Another Battery
Whatever Must Make Own is ------- Signal Transduction Device ONLY!!
Interim Conclusion & Recommendation
Do/Make as NOTHING as Possible
Conclusion for Conclusion
Minimum Necessary Hardware (in patient side)
Doppler Transceiver ONLYRest of Necessary Resources are
ALL TRANS-NETWORK supported.
If One Like Phono or AECG rather than Doppler
Do Make Phono or AECG as You Like
Remake after 30 years
Easiest method using legacy 433MHz ISM band SCPC (Single Channel Per Carrier) NBFM system
Medical Telemeter standards (in US, Japan, EU) are basically of legacy SCPC system in or around
400MHz.
433.92MHz Legacy Analog SCPC NBFM system
Technically meets with Japanese medical telemetry standard. In design ready for license acquisitio
n and in-hospital use.
Needs a dedicated receiving system.
Ready to connect to existing in-hospital fetal monitors across external Doppler audio in
terface.
433.92MHz Legacy Analog SCPC NBFM system
>100% Excellent as a Closed System
Diagnostic quality of fetal heart rate trace has been obtained.
Typical Fetal Heart Valve Doppler Signal. Selection Filter 150Hz - 1KHz for ultrasound carrier frequency 2MHz. (horizon
tal axis span about 2 sec,)
Astral plane antenna
AX-700B Instrumentation receiver
Audio data (MD) recorder

Let’s Change System to BlueTooth Connection in Order to Connect to Networked Cloud Environme
nt, Using Patient Own Smart-Phone.
However
That’s not Too Easy.
Today Almost of Noble Existences have Escaped Up To Beyond The Cloud -----
Instantaneous HIGH Power Drain Syndrome
Let Me Eat First !!
Bluetooth transmitter needs HIGH power drain instantaneously on Start-Up and Pairing phase.
Another Syndrome/Problem/Issue
Exclusive or Restrictive Hand Shake* Protocols, Versions (Generations), Styles (Profiles) Acro
ss Blue-Tooth Systems All-Over
(*with local language, “pairing” )
We need at least 3 level software for our own development
(1), (2) underway, (3) basically done (now on service)
Why Bluetooth?Today, basic hardware and communication firmware are equipped as a standard, in almost of smart-phones a
nd similar PDAs in market.
Bring (use) your own device (BOD), OK
Issues can be focused on upper level and bottom level software, firmware, application developments.
However of HoweverWe still have many many issues to be solved or overco
me (or skip or neglect -----)
