To further promote the research, preparation & revision of the RFID standards in China, and to ensure the underpinning role of standardization in RFID technology innovation and industrial development, the Science & Technology Department of the Ministry of Information Industry approved the creation of the RFID Standardization Work Group in Oct 2005 (See XIN KE Han [2005] Doc 52. Hereinafter referred to as the “Work Group”).

OverviewOverview• 1 ) Overall Team: • Studies the RFID standards in China, is responsible for the overall work of the

preparation of the RFID standards; and promotes the related activities between different project teams

• 2 ) RFID & Reader/Writer Team: • Prepares the standards related to the physical properties, electronic

properties and testing methods of the RFID labels and readers/writers• 3 ) Frequency & Communication Team: • Proposes the RFID frequency demands in China, and prepares the protocols

& standards for RFID communications as well as the corresponding detection methods

• 4 ) Data Format Team: • Prepares the basic standards as well as standards related to terminologies,

product codes, and network structures• 5 ) Information Security Team: • Prepares the RFID-related information security standards• 6 ) Application Team: • Prepares the RFID-related application standards• 7 ) IPR Team: • Prepares the IPR policies for the RFID standards, drafts IPR-related legal

documents, and provides IPR consulting service
