The uid eco-political landscape of the world over the past few decades has thrown up new power equations – forcing traditional rivals to collaborate and also pressurizing hitherto partners to compete. Complexities of global nancial ows in trade, volatility of international markets and ambiguity in the business environment are causing rms to improvise and innovate. Survival of the ttest is the criterion and uncertainty is the reality. Businesses have taken up the challenge and are seen to be adopting new practices and a renewed agenda to, not just survive, but thrive in the current era. The current breed of post-millennial customers are demanding seamless connectivity and increasing social interaction. On the other hand, the power of SMAC (Social-Mobile-Analytics & Cloud) offers businesses the opportunity to dig deeper, respond faster and surpass geo-spatial boundaries. Governance and sustainability norms are getting more stringent, while stakeholders are getting better informed and increasingly empowered. Given these new realities, Management practices have evolved to become more egalitarian, accountable, enabling and exible. Emerging practices such as reverse mentoring, management of organizational memory, cross channel consumer shopping, nancial inclusion and others are paving the way for greater value creation and better risk management.

This conference offers a platform to managers, academicians, case authors and students to showcase emerging practices in Business & Management. The objective is to bring to the fore attempts by Management to improve and innovate in the context of factors in the external business environment or to highlight bold moves by businesses to leverage their core competencies. This Conference seeks to bring in a healthy exchange of ideas regarding the rationale behind emerging practices, their impact as yet and their place in the larger theory of Management Practice.
