How To Self-Publish For Free Along With Createspace By JimmyConjugated Linoleic Acid Y
CreateSpace.com is a print On Demand company owned by Amazon. It's not well-known but, but is
an easily accessible service for authors to publish their very own books for a minimal amount of
money and yet receive the benefit of being listed on Amazon -- as well as having Amazon collect the
amount of money from customers, ship the books to the customers and send the author their money
every month.
Technology has dramatically transformed the publishing world since i have started writing.
Way back in the old days the only way most writers could be published was to send out their
manuscript to the publisher of a publishing company, the majority of the biggest and best in ny, and
hope they were accepted. Gradually it became extremely difficult for any writer to sell a magazine to a
publishing house with no editor. The one exception has been the science fiction/fantasy/horror
industry where editors tried to take care of the tradition of being open to immediate manuscript
submissions (but they required a back seat to be able to mss. Submitted by recognized agents).
Some companies took advantage of people wanting to submit books that could or couldn't survive
accepted by an ordinary author. They were known as "vanity squeezes " because it was generally
identified that the only reason to use them was to print up publications the author was determined to
see published no matter what. Because these companies had minimum print works of 1000 copies or
even more, the author usually went to their grave with 992 duplicates in boxes in their downstairs
room, attic or garages.
Some entrepreneurs figured out how to publish books for a lot less cash, but they had to spend plenty
of time on their own marketing -- selling them in the back of the space after speeches, by catalog
shopping, by consignment to neighborhood bookstores, and through classified ads. Some years
back, the print on demand revolution happened. A computer keeps a book's files on record. If
needed, it can print out one replicate.
When I researched printing on demand companies a few years ago, however, the best and cheapest
nonetheless required nearly $600 -- still a significant investment. With CreateSpace, Amazon has
removed all charges but a few minimal ones. The only catch is that the author must produce the
ebook files themselves.
Jimmy Clay's book relates the complex details of how he created a novel he wrote. If you have
Microsoft Word, it's great. I don't, and could not replicate some of the technical details with Open
Office. However, the graphic viewer program this individual recommends did help me alter the stock
images we selected.
He goes into a lot of detail on cover style. This is now somewhat outdated, since Create Space offers
a cover design service together with templates you can use. However, if you're good at graphic
design or wish to outsource the job to someone else, his explanations will give you or even the
contractor the necessary information to suit Create Space's criteria.
He did not cover some of the ramifications of Create Space distribution, and there have been recent
changes since he wrote this kind of book. If you already know the right path around Word, Open
business office or -- even better Quark, you probably don't need this. Particularly if you're willing to
use one of Create Space's cover web templates.
You also don't need this kind of if you have an agent and nyc publishers are offering you contracts.
However, if you want a book like a professional credential or you're a writer unsure of whether it is
possible to produce your own book, this particular book will give you confidence that you too can
publish your own guide and sell it on amazon online marketplace. Cheap Facebook Ads
