HOW TO EXPORT A PRODUCT
BASIC STEPS FOR AN EXPORT
STEPS 1: LOCATION OF TARIFF SUBHEADING
To locate the subheading on your product has two options:
1) Through the tariff schedule
2) the informal help offered by the Clearinghouse
STEP 2: REGISTER AS EXPORTER: (RUT)
Decree 2788 of 2004, as amended by Decree 2645 of 2011 Treasury, the Single Tax (RUT) was regulated, which is constituted the only mechanism to identify, locate and classify subjects of obligations managed and controlled by the Tax and Customs, DIAN . STEP 3: MARKET RESEARCH AND LOCATION OF THE APPLICATION POTENTIAL

STEP 5: PROCEDURE FOR CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN

If the buyer abroad requires the certificate of origin for tariff preference, the producer of the goods to be exported must fill out the Affidavit, for each product, if marketer must be authorized by the producer. STEP 6: CUSTOMS PROCEDURES FOR DELIVERY TO THE DIAN
if their export is less than USD10,000 value. If it is greater than this amount, must perform this procedure through a Customs Agency that is authorized by DIAN. This procedure must be done before the customs administration where it is to clear the goods, attaching among others, the following documents
• commercial invoice
• Packing List (if required)
• Health Records or having goods (if required by the product)
• Transport Document
• Other documents required for the export product
STEP 7: PAYMENT METHODS
It is important to consider how your customer will pay export. For this there are different international payment instruments such as letters of credit, guaranteed drafts, guarantees Standby, among others, that provide security transaction. SURE!
STEP 8: PROCEDURES EXCHANGE (REFUND OF CURRENCY)
Every export generates the obligation to repay foreign currency through the exchange intermediaries (Commercial banks and other financial institutions) therefore exporters must make the sale of foreign exchange to these intermediaries, for which they must claim and fill to the entity's Change Declaration form No 2.
