TransparentChoice brings insights at each step of the decision. And makes it all transparent to

stakeholders.

Insights into a

decision

The first step is to setup a decision. You define WHAT will be evaluated (alternatives), HOW

(criteria and scales) and by WHOM (evaluators).

Alternatives Criteria Evaluators

• Define WHAT will be evaluated.

• For example, projects, or vendors, or candidates…

• You can import alternatives, collect them via online form or add manually.

• Sometimes alternatives are not needed. You may use software just to prioritize criteria.

Alternatives Criteria Evaluators

Define HOW your team will evaluate alternatives:

a. What criteria / goals against which you will evaluate your alternatives (quality, cost, risk, time…).

b. What rating scales will be used by evaluators in the surveys.

Alternatives Criteria Evaluators

• Who evaluates what: Who will prioritize criteria? Who will score alternatives?

• Evaluators get access to auto-generated surveys.

• Evaluators don’t have access to each other’s votes.

• You can access all surveys and track the progress.

Criteria are NOT equally important and everybody sees their priorities differently. This step is about developing

criteria priorities.

• Use auto-generated surveys to collect feedback about the relative importance of criteria.

• Evaluators compare criteria in pairs. They can add comments with their votes.

• Real-time voting allows your team to work together – comparison by comparison.

Prioritize criteria

• Identify disagreements.

• Review comments.

• Group surveys into buckets for detailed analysis.

• For example, you may create separate buckets for the responses from executives and managers.

Prioritize criteria

• TransparentChoice converts comparisons into criteria weights.

• You can display criteria weights for groups and for individual evaluators.

No single alternative is the best when measured against all criteria. Evaluate alternatives in the context of criteria

to understand their pros and cons.

• What are the final scores? You can use average values or discuss differences of opinion and reach consensus.

• For each group, you choose values that represent the opinion of the group.

Insights into a

decision

Analyze votes and comments collected from evaluators.

• Where do they disagree? What are the reasons?

• Are there any criteria for which disagreement is high? Were these criteria and scales well-understood?

• Was anybody trying to “game” the system by promoting a particular alternative?

• Charts are another source of insights into your decision.

• See the attractiveness of the different options, including value for money rankings.

• Group evaluators into buckets to display charts just for the group.

Create different scenarios:

a. Exclude or change weights of criteria.

b. Exclude alternatives.

c. Exclude or change vote strength of evaluators.
