With its reinforced concrete structure grasscrete performs well in many structural

roles including emergency vehicle access routes. Suppliers of alternative pre-cast or

plastic products will often say that their systems are suited to use in this way and will

sometimes show areas being tested. An operational situation is however very

different as this photo shows grasscrete has been tested in reality.

The interlocking units are fixed to the membrane via a leg support system that creates a

clear waterway. The soil is suspended by a geo-textile bonded to the underside of the

paver that allows water but not the soil to pass through
