K.I.S.SKeep it Simple, Sunshine

The K.I.S.S formula works well when making a

point while minimizing the time needed to get to

the point. Each slide will be clumped in 3’s because 3’s are easy to remember. You can handle the work you

need to do, but still take in:

1. Three sentences (my thoughts)

2. Three bullets (points to consider)

3. Three tips (links leading to some really cool info)

TIP #1Get Over It

Page 8: From Suits to Sweats - Part I Getting Motivated

What ever the circumstances are that brought

you home (downsized, fired, quit, in transition,

personal choice), embrace it. What a great opportunity to recalibrate and

start a new chapter. Allow yourself to move

through the phases of loss (or change) so you

can move on to productive work.

I GET IT1. You’re likely to feel denial, anger,

bargaining, depression before acceptance.

2. It will take some time to move through the process and acknowledge how you feel.

3. It takes commitment to not restart the cycle, spinning in a vortex and unnecessarily delaying progress.

TIP #2Get Started

Page 13: From Suits to Sweats - Part I Getting Motivated

If you’re in job search mode, realize

that getting a job is a job; get

started. If you are transitioning to a

new career, get started. If you’re

expected to work from home,

get started.

ONE FOOT FORWARD1. Your present circumstances don’t

determine where you can go, they merely determine where you start.

2. Little changes, done in succession, create big results.

3. Choose: stop quitting or quit stopping (hint: they both work).

TIP #3Check Yourself

Page 18: From Suits to Sweats - Part I Getting Motivated

If you’re working from home, it’s likely

that you will be very self directed. The

trick is to ensure you are self

motivated to be self directed. That

starts with self awareness and

self discipline.

YOU’RE IN CHARGE1. Determine your productivity sweet

spot. If you’re a morning person, it’s not time to start sleeping in.

2. Set a time and method to assess if you are on track with your daily plan.

3. Work throughout the day, but balance your time with true breaks, one of the perks of working from home.
