Executive Summary
This is the report that record everything that happened in our charity drive week and
the summary of what we have learnt during that period of time. In this report, we will be
talking about the objective of our charity drive, which is to earn money and donate it to a
charity organization. The organization we choose are a Chinese Buddhist organization which
currently helping the flood victims in Kuala Krai, Kelantan. Unfortunately we didn’t reach
our target sales amount but we still manage to get at least half of the amount.
We are targeting students and teacher around the campus because we are selling
foods. We also have very strong competitors because there are few group also selling food.
For the product and the packaging, we use a very eco-friendly way to do it and our packaging
are all recyclable. The pricing of our products is fair and affordable for everyone especially
student. To promote our charity drive, we use several way to do that, through Facebook,
poster and face-to-face conversation to engage with customer. Also we having a very tough
time finding our sponsor and we get rejected many times, but still manage to find a
sponsorship who willing to sponsor products for us to run the charity drive.
We distribute the task to very members of our group so that we can get things done
easily and in an efficient way. At the end of the charity drive, we end up earning a total of
RM2025.00, after cutting off our expenses, we still manage to get RM1675.00 and donate it
to the charity organization. To be said that this is not an easy task to do but we surpass our
limit and get this done although the result is not ideal. Along the approach to the target, we do
have good and bad times when running our business and it was fulfilling seeing them
through.

Objectives
We had chosen Fo Guang Shan Malaysia as the charity organization that we will donate the
money to. The reason we will donate the money to them is because they are recently helping
the flood victims of Kuala Krai, Kelantan and also we hope that we can help those persons in
needs in the name of a loyal Buddhist. Water drop Teahouse Sdn.Bhd, the business who
sponsored the food is actually an F&B business under the name of Fo Guang Shan Malaysia.
So, when we said that we will donate the money to Fo Guang Shan Malaysia, they agreed
sincerely that they will sponsored us the food for the event, which are the fried rice, fried rice
noodles and Nasi Lemak.
During the event, we targeted RM1000 from the donation and RM1000 from the sales of
selling fried rice, fried rice noodles, Nasi Lemak and herbal eggs from the charity drive event.

Fried Rice 2 5
Nasi Lemak 3 6
Herbal Egg(1 unit) 0.60 2
Herbal Egg(3 unit) 1.80 5
The herbal eggs are homemade herbal eggs so the price will be higher and normally the price of Nasi Lemak is around RM 1.50 to RM2.50. But we are selling RM 6 because it is a healthy Nasi Lemak which uses pandan leaf instead of coconut milk and also comes with
vegetarian curry mutton.
When we were facing difficulty to sell them, we will lower the quantity to be ordered for the next day and also lowered the price. If we were selling them faster than anticipated, we would make some offer such as 3 herbal eggs for RM5 and not RM6, or buying 1 Nasi Lemak with 1
herbal egg will be RM7.

Promotion
To promote our product, we had come out with a marketing message, which is “Help
the flood victims of Kuala Krai”. We choose this message is because the charity organization
is currently helping the victims of the flood in many ways, by providing food, daily supplies,
shelter and also man power.
The main tools we used to promote our products is through Hand-produce poster,
Facebook and face-to-face conversation. We choose this few method to promote is because
we can have our stall and product details on the poster, example the product name and prices.
Besides, Facebook is a very popular social networking sites, that why we decided to use it to
promote our products. Face-to-face conversation is the best way to catch customer attention
by giving details to customer in an easy and direct way and we also be able to pursuit the
customer to buy our products.

Green Measures
Our product are mainly food, vegetarian food, the food in a very environmental
friendly way. Eco-friendly way to cook is not only benefit to the environment, but also to
human body, the food we use was all organic vegetable, it can keep chemical out of body as
well as the air, soil and rivers. Besides the way we package our products also in an eco-
friendly way. For the rice and noodle, we use disposable plastic food container instead of
Styrofoam box, this is because plastic box can be recycle or reuse but Styrofoam box can’t do
so and it take a long time to decompose and also will release poison gas. As for the herbal
egg, we use plastic bag to pack and distribute it to customer.
The way we distribute our products mostly is done by foot throughout the campus, so
the carbon footprint is low. The product waste like I said just now, both of it can be recycle
and for the disposable plastic food container can be reuse. The way we reduce our
consumption of electricity is we use warmer to keep our product insulation pot which does
not require any electricity. When running the event, we use recycle paper to note down our
sales, as for the poster that contain the products’ name and price, we reuse and reuse for the
whole week of charity drive so that we can save paper.

Evaluation of Results During the charity drive, what we did right was by deducting the quantity of nasi lemak
when we realized that we could not finish selling it before it got smelly in the first day. And for the nasi lemak that we did not managed to sell out, we gave it to the workers in Taylor’s
University Lakeside Campus. And what we did wrong were we ordered too many food and wasted for the first day
because they gone smelly due to not many people buying it, and we also set the cost too high for nasi lemak, some of the customer were shocked when they heard the price RM6 for a
pack of nasi lemak. If we can repeat the event one more time, we would change to other type of food to sell
and not selling heavy food, because normally customer will just buy a snack and not fried rice or nasi lemak. And the only snack we sold was herbal eggs.
