Final

PowerPoint –

Photo-spreadIntentions and evaluation

Page 2: Final powerpoint

Photo-spread 1 – Chosen image My original intention with this image

was to always capture the beauty in normal moments such as running. I wanted the audience to realise that this image is very candid and so from that they could feel that this wasn’t staged and fake.

The model has a happy facial expression and the line of flowers that she is running by adds to the overall positive vibe of the image which is also aided by the high key lighting too. The image is visually striking due to the burst of colour added by the line of flowers and our eyes are immediately drawn to the model and what she is wearing as she is close to these eye catching flowers. It is important that our eyes are drawn to the model as the fashion spread is focusing on her.

My final image is a much more bright and vibrant image with a much more noticeable positive tone and colour bursting from everywhere. My intentions for this final image was just as mentioned. I wanted it to be striking and different with the image mirroring itself but with the mirrored images being different to one another whilst remaining the same in terms of placement of the model and background etc. This overall creates an eye catching image which makes the audience feel warm due to its bright colours range.

The models clothing is in sharp focus here and the lighting high key. The bold pink colours on the models dress make her stand out and so our attention is therefore drawn to her. The model is giving us direct address and this establishes a connection with the audience. My intentions for this was to show that nature comes from anywhere and to establish this I added a wheelbarrow with nature growing from it, which keeps my theme concurrent. The sun beaming from the background gives the image high key lighting and fits in with the positive vibe which my model also gives off due to her facial expression.

What we get in the final, edited version of the picture is a much more focused and bold image with the colours balanced a lot more carefully and the nature aspect of the image is much more colourful and apparent. The model is also much clearer due to this colour balance which fulfils my intentions of her being the main focus as the colours on her dress are more bold and attention grabbing than the colours of the flowers which were purposely more faded so that they are not the main focus.

The model in this image is perfectly in line with the rule of thirds and so our eyes are automatically drawn to her. The models dress which is a stunning dark sea blue, which fits with my intention of a full natural image, contrasts perfectly well with the other natural colours in the image and causes her to stand out. The narrow depth of focus used takes the attention from the flowers in the foreground and gives in onto the model, the flowers in result of this act as complimentary towards the image.

The final result of this

image takes on a much

more natural overtone

which fits in with the

models dress much more

and compliments it as a

result. The model is more

carefully aligned so that

our eyes are drawn to her

quicker and her dress is

more bold so that our

attention is grabbed and

held for a longer time.

This image is brightly

coloured and the model is

lined up with the rule of

thirds. The models clothing

is coloured differently to

the other colours in this

image and so he stands

out much faster. He is

giving direct address and

so this makes it much

more personal and striking

to the audience.

The final image has a brighter background which compliments my models clothing much more without drawing attention away from him. My intentions for this image was to focus solely on upper body clothing and accessories and I believe I achieved this with the use of a medium shot to get his upper body in the frame. The accessory that he is wearing is dark and so stands out against the other bright colours in the image.
