Eurovia pioneered the development of so-called warm mixes, which have limited energy impact,
in Europe as far back as 2003. Eurovia’s Tempera® product range includes a new process:
Evotherm® DAT5.
Evotherm® DAT5 was developed by the U.S. meadWestvaco company, a world leader in asphalt
emulsifiers. Eurovia began applying the process in 2007 as exclusive supplier in a number of
European countries.

BreakthrOugh InnOvatIOnThe Evotherm® DAT5 process constitutes a new generation of asphalt mixes achieving temperature reductions of up to 50°C.The process ensures asphalt mixes of excellent quality, equivalent to those using conventional techniques.Used in the fied of foam bitumen technologies, more than its temperature lowering power, the Evotherm® DAT5 additive is a bonding agent which gives the aggregate similar if not better properties than traditional hot coated aggregates.

hIghLY FLeXIBLe prOduCtIOn
Aqueous concentrated additive solution Evotherm® DAT5 is injected into the binder producing then an additivated foam. The injection system is designed to fit any continuous or batch mixing plant without the need to modify existing equipment.
In addition, the Evotherm® DAT5 process in no way hinders the operation of the conventional mixing plant, which can alternate production of warm and hot mixes.
hIghLY LImIted envIrOnmentaL ImpaCtThanks to its innovative chemistry, the Evotherm® DAT5 process reduces emissions and energy requirements. This environmental performance is achieved without compromising the quality of the mixes produced.

The formulation of asphalt mixes produced with the Evotherm® DAT5 process is identical to that of conventional asphalt mixes; most types of production are therefore possible.
The performance of the mixes has been confirmed in
core sample campaigns:
On each worksite, the measured properties are
compliant with the applicable specifications for the
type of asphalt mix laid. Like all asphalt mixes in the
Tempera® range, the Evotherm® DAT5 process allows
for recycling through introduction of RAP in the
formula produced, thus helping to conserve non-
renewable resources.
