DESCRIPTION
EURIPIDES² has been awarded the EUREKA label in Ankara during the EUREKA High Level Group which closes the one year Turkish Chairmanship of this initiative. 18 EUREKA member countries have given their approval of this new program dedicated to smart electronic systems. EURIPIDES² will run until 2020 for an estimated total cost worth € 800 Million. This outstanding support is 50% more than the initial label achieved in 2007. More than 60 companies, research institutes as well as federations of enterprises and regional and European clusters from Europe-some of them like French, German, and Swedish have supported this new initiative. In their plea, they also urged Members states to continue and reinforce their commitments to professional electronics directly contributing to at least 10% of the world GDP. Europe has a strong position in this sector lead by industrial leaders in aerospace, automotive, energy, health care, transport, and in all new domains like smart cities, mobility and security.
