Impart knowledge from all realms through fun and engage all in multimedia powered quiz events. The Indian cement industry is experiencing a boom on account of the overall growth in the economy. The demand being a derived one, depends primarily on industrial activities, real estate business, construction activities and investment in the infrastructure sector. Construction sector constitutes 7% of India’s GDP and thereby being directly proportionally to the surge in the cement industry. The company, amongst India’s cements majors and also an advent supporter of low-carbon investments in India wanted to further their employee interaction and productivity by improving their employee engagement activities. They felt that engaged employees will make the difference and keep the focus on relentlessly improving efficiency not just for the company but will enable employee’s to use their skills and talents to their full potential. It was therefore decided to use the natural advantages of education and general knowledge in a structured quiz format to bring the quizzer out of their employee and their family members while at the same time earn them recognition amongst their colleagues and help them harness skills such as effective public speaking, image building, thought articulation and effective communication. QuizWorks organized a “Mastermind” marathon for the employees and their families of this cement major across all its plants in India. Mastermind was structured, organized, scheduled and managed across duration of four months. Mastermind consisted of two per plant level quizzes, one each for the employee and the other for the family members. The content was a mixed bag and a highly interactive session. This was then culminated to the four regional semi finals and then to a grand national finale. The Mastermind marathon was perceived as a stress buster, entertainer, knowledge exchange session and more importantly a platform for employees across the plant to interact informally and get to know each other.
