he construction materials, which is well-known world-wide under the name of AAC block, was invented in 1923 by a Swedish architect, Johan Axel Eriksson. The main compo-nents of AAC block are sand, lime, cement, gypsum, aluminum powder, and water. Thus, it is highly valued for its lightweight, great compressive strength, suitability for wall building, resistance to earthquake impacts as well as ther-mal insulation. Therefore, AAC block has revolutionized the construction material to make it multi-functional and still ecological friendly. In fact, using AAC block can cut down the amount of CO2 by 5 times through raw materials and wastes treat-ment processes .

In Vietnam, AAC block is introduced and manufactured by E-BLOCK JSC under EBLOCK brand name.

INTRODUCTION

hanks to the pre-eminent characteristics, AAC block has acquired an overwhelming market share in the developing countries in Europe, North America and North Asia. In addition, AAC block has started to be used more commonly in developing countries.

According to Decision No. 121/2008 of the Prime Minister on approving the overall plan of Vietnam’s industrial construction materials, the Ministry of Construction is assigned to formulate the development program of non-fired construction materials till 2020-year, in which alternative materials step by step replace the traditional building materials so as to protect the living environment. Following that, AAC block is chosen by Vietnamese Govern-ment due to its outstanding features.

E-BLOCK JSC is proud to be the pioneer in introducing AAC block, which is based on German technology, to Vietnamese market under EBLOCK brand name.

EBLOCK is the first lightweight concrete block product manufac-tured in Vietnam that can meet TCVN 7959:2011 standard and is strongly recommended by Green Building Council Vietnam.

In cooperation with Fossett Corporation from UK, the first AAC block factory which used German technology was con-structed in Long An on June 2009. The total capital invest-ment for the first phase was VND 160 billion. One year later, on June 2010, the first EBLOCK pallets were used in the construction projects. Currently, the factory’s capac-ity reaches 150.000m3 of products per year. In the near future, when the factory is fully established, it is expected to accomplish the designed capacity which can produce 450.000m3 per year. The factory produces not only EBLOCK lightweight blocks but also lintel and panel prod-ucts. It also manufactures specialized thin-bed mortar, plaster mortar and skimcoat for AAC blocks with the capacity of 30.000 tons per year.

E-BLOCK JSC’s factory is located at Thinh Phat indus-trial park, Ben Luc district, Long An province. The factory has approximately 5 ha, including a 10.000m2 workshop, a nearly 1.500m2 for thin-bed, plaster mortar and skimcoat workshop sup-ported by an office building with 1.500m2 floor area. There are extra areas for pro-cessing raw materials, storing final products, boiler house and facilities for workers.

E-BLOCK always attempts to deliver the best quality block to its customers. All raw materi-als as well as final products are sampled to test the quality instantly at factory’s laboratory.

All production phases included selecting raw materials, grinding, mixing, curing, cutting and autoclaving are automated by a closed production system and standard technology trans-ferred from Germany.

The operation process and quality control are checked monthly by QUATEST 31 experts under the long-term contract.

High-standard process and reasonable investment ratio have enabled E-BLOCK to dominate the market in terms of product variety, high quality and competitive price. Currently, E-BLOCK products are not only used commonly in domestic market but also qualified the requirements for export-ing to foreign markets.
