Drucker believed that employees are assets, not liabilities - and that a manager's job is to help people perform to the best of their abilities.

“Accept the fact that we have to treat almost anybody as a volunteer.”

Make people feel valued.

“Most of what we call management consists of making it difficult for people to get their work done.”

Give people the space, tools and support they need to succeed, then

get out of the way.

“The most important thing in communication is hearing what isn't said.”

Create a safe zone so people can voice their concerns.

“Most discussions of decision making assume that only senior executives make decisions or that only

senior executives' decisions matter. This is a dangerous mistake.”
