N ew Channel 4 presenter Shahna Pinnock caught up with us to tell her on her presnt- ing debut on TV, what her latest documenta- ry is about and why she is the one to watch. > > > Us: So Shahna tell us how you’ve been do- ing what’s going on? Shahna: Hi, I’m fine thanks just finished shooting some promotional material for the campaigns to push the documentary out there. U: So how did you get into the world of presenting and more im- portantly on CHANNEL 4? S: [she laughs] well um, I’ve always been intertesed in journal- ism and the media so I started tempting for RWD MAG and sort of conducted my own inteviews while I was there, I kept them all and made my own website. From there I started getting a lot more work from GRIMEDAILY and SBTV. Then it was just networking re- ally. U: WOW SBTV what was it like working with them? S: Its just like the CHANNEL 4 team im with now! SBTV was close knit and full of laughs U: Explain to us this new documentary that’s coming out soon? S: Ahhh I’m so excited for it, it’s the biggest project I’ve ever worked on U: You mentioned the production team size? S: Oh yeah, its really small, like a family you know? But um the documentary is about food U: Yum! S: [she laughs] Yeah, so basically it’s me and we’re following the journey of consumerism with regards to food. Its a vicious cy- cle, the ideologies lead to the adverts which make us buy in to it. Instead of buying food we might as well buy ‘adverts’ ‘ideologies’ and ‘capital’ in our baskets. I’m really excited about this project I hope it does well. “Its a vicious cycle, the ideologies lead to the adverts which make us buy in to it.” Catch Shahna on ‘The Food Cycle’ new to CHANNEL 4 on Thursday nights at 9pm
