Using Door HangersTips for
1. Have A PlanIt works best if you can divide yourneighborhood into smaller sectionsand assign groups to work in eachsection. We tried to do about 200residences per section.

It works best to have a least twopeople to canvas a neighborhood.Even numbers work best so that youcan each work a side of the street.
3. Allow Enough Time
It took longer to hand out the doorhangers than I thought, especially inmore established neighborhoodswhere the houses are further apartand have longer driveways.
4. Denser Neighborhoods Are Efficient
Newer neighborhoods in our area aremuch more dense. They tend to havesimpler designs with doors closer to thestreet which make it much easier todistribute door hangers.
5. Expect Internal Resistance
Handing out door hangers can beintimidating to folks. Don't be surprised ifyour people who are quick to volunteerfor other things decline to do this.
Some communities require canvassers and solicitors toregister before they can hit the streets. You can getfined if you don't do this.
6. No Soliciting SignsDetermine how you want to handle "no soliciting" signs. Some communities have "no soliciting" signs up for theentire neighborhood.
