Link Configuration Items withProject Items using SVN Client

A Developer can associate Code Files with Project Items through SVN Client

When a developer commits file changes to the SVN repository, in the Commit

Message she/he needs to provide the ProjectID and ItemID of the file with which

the linking is to be established.

An additional add-on capability ensures whether:

Current workflow stage of the project item is the expected workflow stage for

which the files can be linked to the project item

Commit is performed by the user who is assigned to that particular workflow

stage

Validation for the linked Project Items


A team member can link a Configuration Item to a project item through Digité by:

Searching for the modified files using Commit or through File version

Searching for modified files from the SVN repository’s folder structure

To enable the team member in searching for the correct Configuration Item , for its

association following features are available:

A View of all Files having the same version

View of Changes made to the files – Added, Deleted, Modified

Viewing Commit Message provided at the time of version creation

A Superior can review changes to the files linked to a project item in the following

ways:

View File:

• Directly in the browser

• Download file to save the file locally for viewing and editing purposes

View Color-Coded Version Differences of Files:

• View differences between the current and previous version of the files

• View differences between the older versions of the files

• View differences between a locally stored file and the linked file

Linked files can also be viewed by sorting them for Version or Name

Linked files can also be expanded to view their commit date and messages

A Project Manager can review changes to the files linked to multiple Project items

by using the Traceability Map Reports available:

Traceability Map Report:

This report will show the traceability between linked eform items as well as

the linked files. Such a report can be used to keep track of the issues escalated

to defects and the files changed for the defect fix.

Traceability Exception Report:

This report will show the files linked to eform items, which are not traced to

other configuration items. Such a report can be created by using an Advanced

filter for the Defect eform for a particular release and report can be

generated to keep track of all the defect fixes and files changed for that

release.
