We left all the hair and makeup normal and minimum as we didn’t want to go to the extreme with the scene and make it look unrealistic. However Ereza and Adelaide did put makeup on me, the makeup used was latex, fake blood, tissue paper and bronzer. They applied a lot on my face to make it look like I had cuts and bruises; this again looked realistic and effective and would show the audience that I’ve been hurt or murdered.

- I will be wearing a white top and some black school trousers, the reason for this is that the colours are mutual and both together don’t really represent anything in particular. The main reason we chose the white top was so the audience was able to see the blood conform to the idea that she’s been stabbed and murdered.

Costume

- Tina will be wearing all black clothing as the colour black is dark and gloomy. It connotes death and danger. The colour black also sometimes means something hidden, something fearful or a bad experience. It is linked to the unknown or the unseen. This colour was perfect to conform to the character Tina was playing as she was the murderer and we wanted to represent her in that way at the beginning and middle of the film.

-Ereza is the little sister so we wanted to dress her in something quite childish, we didn’t want to over-do it and make her stand out so we gave her casual clothing such as a skirt and a pink hoodie as the colour pink is quite girly and for young girls, this represents Ereza’s character look innocent and small.

The lighting we required was the use of candles to make the room look scary. We wanted to use this as our available lighting. We also wanted to use low key lighting- as the cellar has dark and light areas and there is a big contrast between the two. The dark areas we will use to represent the evil and darkness and create a dark and scary atmosphere in the room to frighten the audience. Another reason we used low key lighting was to show the inner darkness within our characters, as their shadows also form and become bold and stand out due to this lighting, we wanted to do this as we thought this can also add to tension and eeriness that we want to create to make our characters look evil.

- A Bible- A knife- Other weapons- Big Candles- Small CandlesThe reason we used the bible was to give the film a religious element towards it as most horror films contain some sort of religion that is the cause of evil, usually the devil. So in this case we used it and copied an exorcist verse out of the original ‘The Exorcist’ film as the verse was quite creepy and made the killing scene look more realistic but more creepy. We also thought it would be effect to get insert shots of the bible so there are a variety of shots in our film to make it look more professional. We wanted to use candles and place them around the room to make it look like an actual killing scene that was planned out and had been taken time. This is supposed to make the audience feel on edge and disturbed especially when they see the little girl is the one doing the murders.

Scenes and Shots Mental Patient Room when Annabelle’s middle sister comes to visit her- Close up- Extreme Close up- Over the Shoulder- Low Angle- High Angle- Medium Shot- Long Shot- Angle from the corner of the room to make it look like it’s a CCTV Camera

Actors/Actresses - Tina Buja- Ereza Hasani

Location A friend’s house that he recently moved out of. In the old living room where all the walls are white and there is no furniture remaining

Hair and MakeupWe needed to make a contrast in the makeup of the two characters to show two different emotions, pasts, pain etc. Therefore we made Ereza’s hair messy and her make-up smudged, this was to represent that she was unstable, dark and hasn’t got her life in order.

Due to this scene only focussing on what the character is actually doing and saying we will only need to have available lighting within this scene.

CostumeEreza’s costume was inspired by the Uninvited. Just a plain hoodie etc. and also due to my secondary research I found that in modern mental hospitals people wear their own clothing as long as it hasn’t got anything the patient can harm themselves with. Most of the time they just wear a jacket, white top and joggers. Therefore Ereza will wear a white top, a grey jacket and black leggings with dolly shoes as there are no shoe laces and she will not wear a belt or anything as in mental hospitals they are not allowed. Tina’s was just casual clothing to make her look like a normal teenager. This is a jacket, a white top and some jeans. She will be wearing this to represent that she is normal, the colours of her clothes are not supposed to connote anything but show she is an average teenage, so when compared to Ereza you can see the difference.

Other Equipment and Props- Desk- Chair- Paper and pens- Knife- CCTV Camera effectThese were all used to make sure that our location looks like a real mental patient room. Nothing else will be in the room so it looks more realistic. Another reason why no other equipment or props have been added is do the location looks isolated as this is a code and convention of a psychological horror film.

Scenes and Shots Of the therapy session- Extreme close up- Close up- Over the Shoulder - Establishing shot- Insert Shot

Actors/Actresses - Mr Saull (Psychiatrist) - Ereza Hasani

Location Miss Dodgson’s Office

Page 12: Detailed/Plan Evaluation

Mr Saull will have a shirt and maybe a tie on, this is to represent him as a professional and make the scene look realistic. However we thought this may be a bit too over the top for a therapist so we decided to make him wear a white jumper to make him look more friendly. Ereza will be wearing the same clothing as she did when she was in her patient room as it shows she is stuck in the same time and she won’t move forwards or on with her life. Everything is the same for her.

Costume

Page 13: Detailed/Plan Evaluation

- Note book - Certificates on the wallThe note book will be used for the psychiatrist to writes notes in, so it looks realistic like he is recording her progress. Also we will try and get certificates and place them on the wall as in most psychiatrist scenes they have some sort of qualifications presented.

Again only available lighting will be used in this clip as we want the audience to focus more on what the characters are saying, not what they are supposed to represent.
