For more than 30+ years, Dave Pflieger has enjoyed a long and respected professional career as a pilot,

business executive, and attorney in the aviation industry. He has served in senior leadership roles for a number of major airlines, including Virgin America,

Fiji Airways, Silver Airways, and now, Island Air.

Throughout his career, Pflieger has consistently focused on sustainability,

safety, reliability, and fostering a uniquely local customer experience.

In 2004, Dave Pflieger began a prosperous career at Virgin America. He

served for many years as a Founding Officer and Senior Vice President.

Pflieger helped Virgin America become the U.S. airline to prioritize sustainability

and foster a company culture that prioritizes “green” programs and services.

Thanks to Pflieger’s push for sustainability, Virgin America’s employees were encouraged to take a

particularly active role in their communities and the environment. Some of these efforts are still obvious today, such as the “Great Race for Clean Air,” the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk, and the

Silicon Valley Leadership Group Turkey Trot.

After Virgin America, David Pflieger transitioned into a new role at Air Pacific (now known as Fiji Airways).

There, Pflieger became the CEO & Managing Director where he led the company’s financial turnaround. He also led the Air Pacific’s rebranding as it transformed into Fiji

Airways, including a new fleet of Airbus A330s.

In 2013, Dave Pflieger transitioned into a new role as President & CEO of Silver Airways.

Pflieger spent a year there overseeing the launch of the airline as an independent regional carrier.

Pflieger helped orchestrate critical partnerships and commercial agreements with several major

American and international airlines.

Silver Airways operated 30+ aircrafts flying 170+ daily flights to destinations all over the U.S. and the

Bahamas.

In 2014, Pflieger took over as President and CEO of Island Air, the premier Hawaiian inter-island airline.
