DATA PROTECTION POLICY

Purpose The purpose of this policy & procedure is to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998

Data Controller Alex Clapson T/A Talkworks Training & Development Ltd. is the Data Controller under the Data Protection Act & is responsible for notifying the Information Commissioner of the data it holds, the purpose of its use & renewing its

registration annually.

Policy Statement

Alex Clapson T/A Talkworks Training & Development Ltd. is required to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 in relation to the processing, handling, storage & disposal of personal data which I obtain from clients. This policy covers all personal information whether its collected or stored on paper, electronically or any other media.

Any personal information gathered will only be used in the context of relevant lawful purposes & all personal or sensitive data collected is done so with consent in advance. Alex Clapson T/A Talkworks Training & Development

Ltd. will process all the information obtained to enable me to fulfil my contractual & organisational obligations.

Data Protection Principles Alex Clapson T/A Talkworks Training & Development Ltd. regards the lawful & correct treatment of personal

information as essential & as such, will adhere to the Data Protection principles which require that personal information:

1. Is processed fairly & lawfully

2. Is obtained only for lawful purposes & only used & processed for its original purpose

3. Is accurate &, where necessary, kept up to date;

4. Is adequate, relevant & not excessive in relation to the purposes for which it is processed

5. Is not kept for longer than is necessary

6. Is processed in accordance with the rights of data subjects under the Data Protection Act

7. Is shall be kept secure unauthorised or unlawful processing, loss, destruction or damage 8. Is not transferred to a country or territory outside the European Economic Area unless that country or territory

ensures an adequate level of protection of the personal information

processes & controls:

Observe fully conditions regarding the fair collection & use of information

Meet its legal obligations to specify the purposes for which information is used

Collect & process appropriate information, & only to the extent that it is needed to fulfill its operational needs or to comply with any legal requirements

Ensure the quality of information used
