Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, WSTF, the RBF program manager is:

Managing a $13 million Grant Fund with the WSTF over a three and a half year project cycle in the development and implementation of

water and sanitation subprojects in low income areas of urban Kenya across all 47 counties,

The grant is provided by SIDA (Swedish International Development Agency) through the World Bank GPOBA and Kfw (the German Development Bank),

Manages relationships with KCB Bank, Housing Finance and K-Rep Bank, as well as with other local commercial lenders in Kenya,

Responsible for marketing the RBF program to urban Water Services Providers (WSPs) i.e the subprojects Output Based Aid (OBA) and Aid on Delivery (AoD) programmes under the RBF programme,

Assesses and recommends viable WSPs water and sanitation subprojects for access to commercial loans,

Responsible for approving/rejecting technical assistance funding requests by WSPs under the RBF programme,

Responsible for approving or rejecting the payment of a 60 per cent subsidy under the OBA programme or a 40 per cent subsidy under AoD programme,

Recommends payment of an OBA/AoD subsidy towards the repayment of the commercial loans accessed by WSPs after verification of completed subprojects.

AgriTrade Program Manager

International Relief and Development

(January 2011 to May 2015)

Manages a $10 million USAID-funded Zim-AIED revolving loan fund ‘AgriTrade’ administered by three local institutions supporting rural agribusiness development in all ten provinces of Zimbabwe.

Oversees four provincial offices throughout the country, liaising as needed with additional project staff from other Zim-AIED program initiatives.

Since program inception in 2011, has facilitated the provision of over $4.6 million in loans to over 400 borrowers including agro-dealers and agro-merchants, smallholder crop and livestock farmers, focusing on target groups of farmers under contract farming arrangements, individual farmers growing crops on irrigation schemes or rain-fed communal lands, and livestock farmers of dairy, cattle, poultry, pigs and goats.

Manages relationships with Trust Bank, Central Africa Building Society (CABS), and MicroKing Finance, as well as with additional small microfinance institutions.

Prequalifies, recommends and provides support to recipient farmer and SME agribusiness actors of AgriTrade loans from these local financial institutions, vetting SME agro-dealer potential loan recipients according to AgriTrade Fund eligibility criteria.

Focuses on creating new loans for women farmers through direct lending to smallholder farmer projects.

Monitors use of loans by AgriTrade borrowers involved in agricultural primary production, as well as the implementation of the AgriTrade Credit Facility by partner financial institutions.

Leads Farming As A Business (FAAB) trainings, in partnership with AgriTrade partner banks and institutions, to build the capacity of both project staff as well as farmers and agro-dealers actors both pre and post loan disbursement.

Regularly conducts site visits to monitor the progress and efficacy of trainings, and adoption of practices by farmers.

Assists defaulting borrowers in developing repayment plans, and collaborates with bank loans officers on collection of loan facilities.

Leads media efforts and outreach to agribusinesses along the agricultural value chain to promote awareness of credit availability through the AgriTrade Fund, targeting women.

Provided credit proposals and customer service support to over 70 potential and existing customers, both corporate and small- to mid-sized farmers.

Recommended and monitored loans from $30,000 to $2 million USD. Facilitated risk management by providing detailed proposal analyses to the bank.

Monitored and controlled facilities by analyzing management accounts and client returns; conducted market research and analysis of market competitor activities.
