Creative Thinking for
Innovation
Monica Lisa
Alternative use
1. What is creativity ?
Creativity is the ability to produce work
that is both novel (i.e., original,
unexpected) and appropriate (i.e.,
useful, adaptive concerning task
constraints). (Sternberg, Lubart 2001).
2. A creative process ...
may vary and can be interpreted in different ways, but generally we can
recognize the following phases:
a. Preparation: Data collection and context analysis
b. Incubation phase: We look at reality from
different angles (diverging thinking) and we
produce lots of different ideas
( fluency and flexibility)
c. The insight happens: We have an idea which is original and we
ensure that it is functional and appropriate
d. Elaboration and communication
3. Everyone can be creative,
as long as we:
• accept to work hard
“Genious is 1% talent and 99% hard work”A. Einstein
Talent & hard work
The skill is not enough: you need to decide to use and face problems!
• manage to overcome the blocks that
we inherit from our story and the
environment
