KALAMATA AIRPORT FACILITIES

The airport is located between Kalamata and Messini on GR-82 (Pylos - Kalamata - Sparta) and west of the train tracks on the Pamisos River plain. The runway is about 2.7 km long and runs from north to south from the highway north to the plain. The terminal lies to the east and is accessed with GR- (Kalamata - Tripoli - Corinth).

Pylos Or else Navarino, on the Ionian side of Messinia, built on two lowhills, apart from the picturesque side of this small town (full of vivid colours and two –floor white houses), in the center of the port you will find a rock, the historical islet of Sfaktiria, nowadays named Marathonisi.Take notice on the arches of the buildings. You will find two castles in Pylos, Niokastro and Paleokastro. Paleokastro was built by the Franks in 1278. It has a rectangular shape, with many square and round towers. It’s exact spot that the sea battle of Navarino took place. Next to it, you will find Nestor’s cave. Niokastro was built by the Ottomans in 1573 and is divided in two levels, the upper and lower level. Inside lies a Turkish aqueduct and the ruins of the temple of Transfiguration of Christ. The center of Archeological research is based on this castle. You can pay a visit to the Antonopoulos Museum, which has findings offered by the people of Gialova and Romanos- of the 3rd millenium BC to Roman ages.The area of Pylos is God's blessed. The surroundings are not only of great historical and archaeological interest, but also a little piece of paradise that offers nature.Some examples: the olive groves that cover the landscape; the most beautiful beaches with fine sand of Voidokoilia, Romanos and Gialova; the Divari lagoon of Gialova which host a rich and varied flora and fauna (many migatory bird species, African chameleons) preserved through protection program "Natura 2000. For visitors and travelers it's a chance to spend the holidays cultural as "sports" and thus enjoy the many excursions and hiking.

Only 15 min away from the resort , you can find brand new restaurants and traditional taverns with home made recipes and enjoy your meal by the sea frond.

In the south western coast of Peloponnesus, in the fish village of Marathoupolis there are 2 taverns located next to each other and by the sea frond, that can accommodate 500pax each with a total of 1000pax! The area requires min of decoration with fish nets, sea sells etc, as it is an authentic Greek fish village itself. At the entrance of the village (at the drop off point), a barrel organ player will be performing with his “Laterna”, while delegates arrive at the village. Inside the Fest area street vendors will enhance the festive atmosphere; a sponge-seller, a komboloi-seller, a nuts-seller and an evil-eye charms seller, will enhance the festive atmosphere. These “Greek Stands” can vary depending on the final needs (from traditional sellers –sponges, nuts, etc – to cheese, olives, wine tasting stands etc)

This Greek traditional and folk band has a big variety in its style. The Band consists of bouzouki, guitar, violin, accordion and vocals. It can be accompanied by Greek dancers who will entertain and motivate all the delegates to join them.

The superbly preserved Ottoman fortress of Neokastro, in Pylos, was built to guard the harbor of Pylos.Nowadays it is an archaeological site. With a special permission from the Ministry of Culture, we can organise a standing Gala Dinner reception with an Olympic Theme.



When all the guests reach the Castle of Pylos the area known as “Acropolis”, Olympic Drummers will appear unexpectedly on the traverse (the upper walls of the castle), with the special sound of the daouli drums, its impressive shape, the modern forms of Drum Team music as well as the musicians’ movements will create an extraordinary atmosphere and the theme night will commence.

Living statues of Ancient Greek Gods of Olympus and/or the Caryatides, will be standing still giving the impression of a lively decoration effect, until it is time for them to move.
