Controlling
Natural Light
with Shutters
Letting natural light helps reduce energy bills. Windows are a default choice
for homeowners, but its design is inefficient and lets too much sunlight
inside. Curtains, on the other hand, are bulkier and harder to clean, as it
needs regular washing.
The trendy window designs today are the worst at keeping sunlight out,
because it involves a single, but oversized glass panel that needs custom
curtain fixtures. It is pricier than every option, making it a no-no for clients
with a limited budget.
Simple Problem, Simple Solution
The objective is to let natural light
and block the excess to not make
the house hot. Shutters, not
curtains, windows or a
combination of both, provides
the solution for both situations.
There are interior and exterior
shutters that add sophistication to any home.
Additionally, it is customisable to fit each house’s design, just like
with windows.
There is no need for a complicated fix for such a straightforward obstacle.
Curtains with “special” material are usually reasons for companies to charge
more for something completely the same. It just makes it heavier, which in
turn, makes it a chore to bring down
and bring to the laundry.
More Than Natural Light
There is no better way to relax than
to let cool breezes in. Shutters are
perfect in allowing enough natural air
and light to make the room
comfortable, compared to windows
that call for a full opening and allow
insects of all sizes to enter the house.
In the summer, a household would want to use the air conditioner less. It
could either mean buying loads of fans or better window fixtures. The latter
is the economic and environmental choice considering that it does not
consume energy.
There are so many different styles to fit all kinds of homes. Nonetheless, a
household needs to prioritise a shutter’s efficiency over its aesthetics. Come
summer, style will not matter if a homeowner cannot keep a stable
temperature inside their house.
