TARGET AUDIENCEThe target audience for 'Laughter' would mostly appeal to would be teenagers to younger adults particularly in the age category of 15-25 year old's. Based on independent research undertaken of the industry, films with similar content have been given the age rating of 15. The reason behind this would be that teenagers within the lower ages wouldn't maybe understand the jokes within the short film.

RESOURCES – PART ONE Location: - The place in which I feel I will be recording my short film will be in the school as it offers a stage in which I see suitable to the idea of my short film. A comedians habitat is usually up on a stage.

Props: - Props wise I wouldn’t need much as the action would be set on stage. The props we would need are a microphone, also a wet paper towel of some sort which will be supposedly thrown.

RESOURCES – PART TWO Equipment: - Most equipment which will be used will be borrowed from the school. The school offers a wide range of equipment such as; Sony-DCR-VX2100E which is the camera in which I have chose to use, Tascam DR-40 Linear PCM Recorder, Boom Poles, Apple MacBook's which I am using to help with the editing stage, Libec-650. I feel that all this equipment will help with the overall production of my short film.

Editing: - There are two methods in which are available for me to be able to edit. These two methods are iMovie and Avid. These are two very upgraded editing software's which will allow me to edit my work at a fast pace.

PERSONNEL REQUIREMENTS Crew: - My crew will be a Skeleton Crew which consists of 5 people which are also my peers. Each peer will have their own role.

These roles include; - Production assistant - Lighting operator - Director of photography also known as DOP - Sound recordist - Assistant cinematographer. I feel these 5 roles are the most important with the production of my short drama production. Cast: - As for cast I have chosen to use my friends Kundai and Varshini. Varshni will be taking the role of the Comedian, while Kundai as well as myself will be taking the role of the teenagers.

BUDGET – PART ONE Due to not receiving a budget for my production idea has come to me 100% free as The Beacon School offers me everything I need, from a stage to a camera. This allows me to not need to spend any money on the production, therefore I feel this will be a good short film to make as it will benefit my media skills and also not cost a penny to advertise, as I would be able to distribute it for free through YouTube.

BUDGET – PART TWO I recognise in the real world if I were to distribute a short film it would cost money. If this were to happen I would have to distribute money towards the following equipment; (for weekly hire) Total: £2948.37

- Canon EOS C300 Mark II £193 per day x 7 = £1351 - Telescope boom pole £15 per day x 7 = £105 - Mac Pro 12 Core 16GB/22 £99 per day x 7 = £693 (iMovie, will be free on the macbook, meaning no additional costs will be needed for the editing stage).

- Manfrotto 057 Carbon fibre tripod kit with ball head Q5 £14 per day x 7 = £98 - Arri 5 piece lighting kit £45 per day x 7 = £315 - 9 Passenger mini bus for hire for 1 week - £386.37 - Free distribution through the use of YouTube

PROJECT SCHEDULEI have scheduled to record this Short Film within the dates of 20th May and 7th June, I feel this allows me enough time to gather any additional information in which I will need in order to complete my short film and make it a success. There will be a full week in which the production will take place both Varshini and Kundai have informed that they will be available for this week after 3 o’clock, so shooting will take place from 4 o’clock till 8 o’clock Monday to Sunday. However, if was to be filming in the real world, and peers weren’t available to be filmed for no cost. I would use peopleperhour.com to find my cast members in which would be required.-Pennie G. Actor and Voiceover Artist – Charges £560 per week-Jess B. Actor and Voiceover Artist – Charges £430 per weekFor these two actors it would be an overall cost of £990 for the whole week.

LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Within the film, authority has been granted by the Head of the Beacon School as I will be using buildings within the school for the stage and a room to throw a wet substance. As I have my locations figured out and have been granted to use these areas for filming ‘Laughter’ at any time after 3:00 I will not be breaking any Legal and Ethical considerations. As I have been granted permission I can now focus on other important areas involved within ‘Laughter’.

CODES OF PRACTICE To ensuring the public are not being disturbed during the production of the film our filming company and the location has thoroughly searched as safety is our highest and first priority. The health and safety of everyone in my team is vital and if anything were to happen to them then I and the production company will be taking full responsibility to ensure that they receive everything in which they require.

COPYRIGHT ISSUES To ensuring no copyright issues are involved I am using minimum background themed music as possible as it is only a comedy, it will not require much music themed backgrounds except maybe when unexpected action is taken place will be using an online sound website which shares jumpy sounds to frighten the audience as if they are in the short themselves and feel how it made the Comedian feel in that exact moment. However, if I were to use a music track without being granted permission this could cause problems once the short is released as I haven’t been given permission. I am avoiding this by not using any music tracks but instead just sounds provided free via the internet.
