This can also be termed as modular building. This refersto a form of building whereby a similar form ofconstruction is adopted, usually by creating standardsizes of elements, thus remaining with the task of justcreating multiples of the said modular elements. Thefollowing are common elements adopted for this form ofconstruction. The Column Formwork is to sustainsupport for concrete floors, beams, walls, staircases, etc.
This refers to the mould into which concrete is poured andcured to provide the desired size and shape. Formwork caneither be made of wood, steel, aluminum or PVC among othersuch items. In system building, a standard size of formwork isadopted, thus requiring similar sizes and forms of concreteelements in construction. This is especially easily achieved forelements like soffit formwork and beam and ColumnFormwork. Formwork props are also easily standardized tosome extent where floor heights are more or less similar.
Standard openings will call for standard windows,thus making it easy as well as consistent the processof their construction.
The similarity of construction work leads to repetitivework, which gives the following benefits;
