HISTORY Early life of CHANDA KOCHHAR BORN-NOVEMBER, 17 ,1966. AGE - 47,Jodhpur,Rajasthan, India She is alumnus of St.Angela Sophia School,Jaipur then

moved to Mumbai where she joined Jai Hind College for a bachelor of arts degree

After graduating in 1982 .She then pursued ,cost accountancy ICWAI, later get/acquired the masters degree in management studies from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management studies ,Mumbai and received Wockhardt Gold Medal for excellence in management studies as well as the JN Bose gold medal in COST ACCOUNTANCY for highest marks in the same year entrepreneur and her business schoolmate

She has two children a son and daughter .

ABOUT HER FAMILY BACKGROUND

Her father name is Prof.ROOPCHAND ADVANI. Her father known figure in JAIPUR and was a principal

at an engineering college . Her father died when she was just 13 and then her

mother decided to shift to MUMBAI along with all her three children .

CHANDA KOCHHAR has a love marriage with DEEPAK KOCHHAR he is an entrepreneur.

He has always supported Chanda Kochhar . Deepak Kochhar is currently running a wind energy

firm . She had one son and one daughter ARJUN and ARTI

KOCHHAR.

CAREER 1984-1993 1984- Joined the ICICI bank Iindustrial Credit and Investment

Corporation of India .as a management trainee after her master's degree.then handle project in various industries like textiles ,paper,cement.

1993-2008 1993- KOCHHAR was sent to ICICI bank as a part of a core team

to set the bank and then promoted to assistant general manager in 1994 and then Deputy General Manager(DGM) in 1996 she headed the newely formed infrastructure industry group of ICICI.Aimed to create dedicated industry expertise in the areas of power ,telecom amd transportation .

She managed corporate and retail banking business of ICICI bank

1998- Promoted as the general and headed ICICI major client group which handle relationship with ICICI’S top 200 clients

1999- Handle the strategy and e commerce division of ICICI.

2000-Under her leadership ICICI bank started the retail business in July and emerged the largest retail financer in India in the next five years .

2001 - She took over the executive Directer, heading the ICICI bank it took 10 years to promoted to AGM.

2006-Kochhar was appointed as deputy managing director of ICICI bank.

2007-2009 -She was also the bank’s Chief Financial Officer(CFO) and the official spokesperson ,and Joint Managing Director (JMD).

2013 - As a most powerful women in India by “India Today ,for the 3rd year in row.

RECOGNITION

Under Kochhar’s leadership ,ICICI bank won the “BEST RETAIL BANK IN INDIA” AWARD in 2001,2003,2004 and 2005

“Excellence in Retail Banking Award”in 2002.Both award were given by THE ASIAN BANKER.

Chanda Kochhar personally awarded “retail bankers of the year” 2004 by the asian banker.

By The Economic times –”Business women of the year 2005”

By Retail Banker International she got “Rising Star Award”for Global Awards 2006.

The 3rd highest civilian hanour by the government of India for the year 2010 for her services to banking sector.

She also get ASIAN BUSINESS LEADERSHIP FORUM AWARDS .(ABLF) IN 2011.

Climed up the list debuting with the 47th position in 2005.And bounced to 43rd position in 2011

MAY 2009 for a period of five year . ICICI bank is India’s largest private bank

She is the chairperson of ICICI bank EARASIA LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY and ICICI INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY LTD.

SHE is VICE-CHAIRPERSON of ICICI BANK CANADA and UK PLC .
